A young female British golfer was astonished when she went to retrieve her golf ball at a UK golf course and discovered it resting next to a six-foot snake. The 12-year-old junior golfer was part of a group of young golfers being guided around Blackwell Grange Golf Club in Darlington by PGA Pro Aaron Cox. The incident occurred on June 13 during a round of golf on the par 4 fifth hole.

Upon reaching the spot where her ball had landed, the golfer found a large boa constrictor lying there. Boa constrictors are known for strangling their prey and are not native to the UK but are commonly found in tropical regions of the Americas.

Pro Aaron Cox, who hails from Australia, was unperturbed by the snake’s presence, having encountered larger snakes in his home country. However, some members of the group were alarmed by the unexpected encounter. The snake, believed to be an abandoned pet, was eventually safely captured and taken to a pet shop.

The head pro, Peter Raine, and Aaron managed to secure the snake in a cardboard box after deciding it was too heavy to handle with golf clubs. The snake was later handed over to a local shop, Coast to Coast Exotics, which is seeking the owner through social media.

This unusual incident has sparked interest among local residents and golf enthusiasts, as snake sightings are rare on UK golf courses. The rescued boa constrictor is reportedly in good health and being cared for while efforts to locate its owner continue.
