A 13-year-old boy has been apprehended in relation to a hit-and-run incident involving an e-bike colliding with a pregnant woman, leading to the premature birth of her baby who is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
The collision occurred on January 26 at approximately 3:50 pm on Herbert Avenue in Poole, Dorset, near the intersection with Manor Avenue. The pregnant woman, in her 30s, was hospitalized following the crash, resulting in the birth of her baby. The infant’s condition is described as serious by Dorset Police.
Following investigations, a 13-year-old boy from Poole was taken into custody on suspicion of a driving offense. Authorities confirmed that the boy remains detained at this time. Sergeant Dan Yates from the roads policing team expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance in the investigation and urged any additional witnesses to come forward.
