Two trains carrying around 600 passengers collided with a stranded vehicle on railway tracks in a recent rail incident. The collision occurred at a level crossing on Poniatowskiego Street in Błonie, Poland, earlier today. According to reports from PolsatNews, a Ford Focus broke down at the crossing, and the driver’s attempts to move the vehicle off the tracks were unsuccessful.
The first train, an Intercity service traveling from Szczecin Główny to Rzeszów Główny, hit the car, pushing it onto the opposite track. Subsequently, a second train collided with the vehicle, which had caught fire by that time. Deputy Inspector Ewelina Gromek-Oćwieja of the Warsaw West District Police stated that the Ford Focus was hit by the first train and then by the second Intercity train after failing to clear the tracks in time.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, and all 600 passengers were safely evacuated from both trains.
