Royal Scandal Casts Doubt on Princesses’ Wedding Attendance

Published on

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are reconsidering their attendance at their cousin Peter Phillips’ upcoming wedding in June following new revelations concerning their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Thames Valley Police recently expanded their inquiry into the former prince after allegations surfaced regarding his inappropriate behavior towards a woman at Royal Ascot in 2002.

The scrutiny surrounding Andrew has once again placed his daughters in the public eye, with Beatrice and Eugenie initially scheduled to participate in the Royal Family’s gathering in Cirencester on June 6 to celebrate Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling’s wedding. However, with Andrew entangled in another scandal, a royal expert suggests that the princesses’ presence at the wedding remains uncertain.

According to Tom Sykes for The Royalist, Beatrice and Eugenie are deeply affected by the latest developments involving their father and are reluctant to draw attention away from the bride and groom on their special day. A source indicated that the princesses are undecided about attending the private ceremony, emphasizing that their attendance was never confirmed.

The source also indicated that Beatrice and Eugenie may opt to skip Royal Ascot later this summer to maintain a low profile amidst their parents’ ongoing controversies. While The Royalist insider believes the princesses will likely miss Peter Phillips’ wedding, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond asserts that the cousins share a close bond and the Royal Family is committed to maintaining a positive relationship with them.

Jennie expressed to the Mirror that any potential presence of Beatrice and Eugenie at the wedding would generate some interest but should not overshadow the couple’s celebration. She emphasized that Peter would not want the alleged actions of Andrew and Sarah to affect their daughters, who have not faced any accusations.

Jennie further stated that the princesses are enduring a challenging period in their lives, and their extended family is resolute in ensuring their continual inclusion. Thames Valley Police confirmed their ongoing investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct by Andrew at Royal Ascot in 2002, stating that all reasonable leads are being pursued.
