Amir Khan is currently entangled in a legal battle, refuting allegations of involvement in a covert sex tape and claims of extortion. The renowned boxer, along with his spouse Faryal Makhdoom, is facing accusations detailed in High Court records, and they have initiated legal action for defamation against solicitor Faryaal Hussain following her assertions on a podcast in 2023.
Amir and Faryal are pursuing damages of up to £100,000 while vehemently denying the accusations as baseless, malevolent, and unverified.
The ex-world champion, aged 39, is additionally accused of sending uninvited nude images to multiple women, reportedly opting for social media to communicate with them. In a particular instance, it is alleged that he filmed a woman during an intimate moment and later made an “aggressive” phone call to her, as per Ms. Hussain’s claims in the High Court.
Supposedly, Amir cautioned the woman involved that if news of the incident surfaced, it could jeopardize his popular ITV reality show “Meet the Khans.”
Hussain’s 21-page defense submission, lodged at the High Court in May, outlines various detailed allegations against the boxer and his spouse.
According to The Sun, another woman allegedly received a pledge of £20,000 from Khan after engaging in conversations with him in 2023. He purportedly sent frequent late-night messages containing sexually suggestive remarks and intrusive queries about her physique.
The legal documents assert that Khan’s 33-year-old wife, Faryal, also issued threats. It is anticipated that Khan and Faryal may be summoned to testify if the matter proceeds to trial.
David Lemer, the legal representative for Ms. Hussain, stated, “The defendant’s actions were motivated by a genuine concern for public well-being, without any intention of profiting from the disclosure or having profited from it. She views the highlighted issues and the conduct of the claimants toward the women as being of paramount public significance.”
As of now, the High Court has not scheduled a trial date for the lawsuit. Khan, who clinched a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics, retired from boxing in 2022 and later appeared on several TV programs such as “I’m A Celebrity,” Celebrity Juice, Countdown, and Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?
Amir and Faryal tied the knot in 2013 but went through a separation in 2017 before reconciling in the same year.
Representatives for Amir Khan have declined to provide any comments.
