Apple has rolled out a crucial update for new iPhone users to address a wireless charging issue that has been affecting some devices. This glitch has hindered the ability to wirelessly charge certain iPhones, forcing users to resort to MagSafe for recharging.
Although Apple indicates that only a small number of users have been impacted, it is advisable for all iPhone owners to ensure their devices are running the latest software version.
The affected devices include the iPhone 17 series, comprising the Pro and Pro Max models, as well as the iPhone Air, as confirmed by Apple. The update is specifically designed to resolve an issue where wired charging may fail on these models when the battery is nearly depleted.
To update your device, navigate to Settings, select General, and then tap on Software Update. Look for iOS 26.5.1, and proceed to install the update immediately or schedule it for a convenient time, such as overnight.
Ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection or have sufficient mobile data as the update is a sizable 13.6GB file.
