A fresh batch of well-known personalities is set to join the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox, as the popular TV show gears up for its eighth season. This spin-off of Gogglebox maintains the same concept as the regular series, featuring celebrities watching and reacting to the latest TV programs from the comfort of their own homes.
The upcoming season premiere is scheduled for this Friday, June 5, at 9 pm on Channel 4. The network has revealed the lineup of new stars who will be inviting viewers into their living spaces. Notable additions include former Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood, paired with her mother Jennifer, as well as Gladiators stars Harry and Matt, and comedian Julian Clary alongside actor Nigel Havers. George Clarke, a former participant on Strictly Come Dancing, will also be featured alongside his close friend and collaborator, Max Balegde.
For many Channel 4 viewers, Max may be an unfamiliar face. So, who exactly is he? Max, a 27-year-old social media influencer from Lancashire, has garnered a substantial following across various online platforms. He initially gained traction on TikTok in 2020 by sharing snippets of his daily life and comedic skits, amassing 3.6 million followers on the platform.
Expanding his repertoire, Max has delved into presenting, YouTube vlogs, and podcasting. He frequently engages with celebrities on red carpets and notably co-hosted the popular Useless Hotline Podcast with fellow influencer George Clarke, which concluded earlier this year, much to the disappointment of their fans.
In anticipation of their appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox, George expressed his excitement, noting the humor Max brings to the show, while Max shared his enthusiasm for reuniting with George on one of their favorite TV programs. The duo’s chemistry and banter promise an entertaining addition to the Gogglebox family.
Make sure to catch Celebrity Gogglebox’s return to Channel 4 this Friday at 9 pm.
