Holidaymakers were shocked as a light aircraft crash-landed near their accommodations this afternoon. The small plane, heading towards Tenerife South Airport, experienced mechanical issues, leading to the emergency landing on side roads close to residential and holiday flats in Amarilla Golf resort. Fortunately, the incident, which occurred at 5pm, resulted in no major injuries. Both the pilot and co-pilot, unharmed, were taken to the hospital for precautionary check-ups. The emergency landing was prompted by a sudden loss of altitude due to engine failure during the approach to the airport. The aircraft came to a stop at an intersection, prompting the arrival of emergency services for assistance. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the technical failure. Emergency crews assessed the occupants, who were then hospitalized for observation, although they did not sustain serious injuries. Firefighters deployed a foam mattress to contain a fuel spill on the road, ensuring the safety of pedestrians and vehicles. Efforts were made to control the fuel spill by applying foam on both the plane and the road surface.
