Marco Pierre White has revealed insights into his long-standing feud with fellow TV chef Gordon Ramsay, asserting that they have reconciled despite disagreeing on Ramsay’s claim that White once made him cry.

The renowned Hell’s Kitchen star, who achieved the impressive feat of becoming the youngest chef to win three Michelin stars at 32 in 1994, mentored a young Gordon Ramsay, now 59, at his esteemed London restaurant, Harvey’s, during the late 1980s.

Ramsay has been vocal about his grievances with White. In his 2006 autobiography, “Humble Pie,” Ramsay singled out White as the person he “most disliked,” accusing him of being “two-faced.”

In an effort to clarify their tumultuous relationship, White shared his perspective on the matter. During an appearance on the Louis Theroux podcast, White reminisced, “Gordon came to me as a young man. I liked Gordon. He was kind and hardworking.” When asked about the alleged incident where Ramsay cried, White quipped, “He made himself cry. He was chopping onions at the time.”

White acknowledged that there were tears shed on Ramsay’s final night working for him in July 1989. He recounted Ramsay’s emotional state, revealing, “It was highly emotional for him. He was very upset. It was 30-plus years ago.”

Despite their past conflicts, White commended Ramsay, acknowledging his technical prowess and consistency, essential qualities for achieving three Michelin stars. White also highlighted his role in Ramsay’s career, facilitating his introduction to renowned chef Guy Savoy in France.

White distanced himself from being responsible for Ramsay’s infamous fiery persona on shows like Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, emphasizing that individuals craft their own paths in life.

The two chefs have reconciled, collaborating on a new television show titled “The Rock N Roll Chef.” Ramsay is producing the BBC Two program, set to commence filming later this year, with White as the host.

White, who is a father to Marco Pierre Jnr, 30, and Luciano, 32, shared a heartwarming gesture from Ramsay during his sons’ challenging times. He expressed gratitude for Ramsay’s support and emphasized the positive attributes of his friend, despite media portrayals.
