TV personality Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing, with reports of a ransom note shedding light on her fate. The elderly mother of the American presenter disappeared from her residence back in February.
Since then, Savannah and her family have been diligently searching for her. However, a ransom note has emerged suggesting Nancy’s demise and demanding a substantial sum in exchange for disclosing the location of her body, as per Air Mail.
Allegedly, one of the ransom notes issued in February carried an apology for her accidental death. Sources indicate that the 84-year-old’s remains were possibly offered to be returned for a monetary exchange.
Insiders familiar with the investigation informed Air Mail in a recent publication that the message was received on February 6. The note followed a previous demand of $4 million for Nancy’s safe return.
Savannah expressed her belief in the authenticity of the notes received and responded to them. Alongside her siblings, Camron Guthrie and Annie Guthrie, she directly addressed the purported abductor through multiple Instagram videos, appealing for Nancy’s safe return.
Subsequently, Savannah came to terms with the possibility of her mother’s passing. She offered a reward of $1 million for information leading to Nancy’s return, acknowledging the likelihood that her mother may not be alive.
As the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance nears its five-month mark, a retired FBI agent has put forth a theory regarding the identity of the masked individual captured on Nancy’s doorbell camera. Despite extensive efforts, authorities have yet to identify any suspects in the case.
The suspect, seen wearing gloves, a backpack, and a gun holster while tampering with the camera, left DNA traces that did not yield a match in the FBI’s database. Collaborating with the FBI, the Pima County Department intends to use investigative genetic genealogy to analyze the DNA evidence.
Recently, retired FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer raised questions concerning the investigation on social media. She urged law enforcement to release enhanced photos of the suspect, modify billboards to aid public assistance, and intensify the search efforts in the desert.
