Prince William showcased the global impact of his Earthshot Prize by riding a London bus today. The Prince of Wales, accompanied by environmentalist Robert Irwin, took a specially-branded electric double-decker bus through London’s streets.
Joining them on the bus were two young climate activists as they made their way to London’s Guildhall for the Earthshot Prize Impact Assembly. This event, part of London Climate Action Week, aimed to recognize innovative solutions to climate change and environmental issues worldwide.
Launched in 2020 for a ten-year run, the Earthshot Prize awards winners £5 million annually, along with mentoring and support. The event gathered finalists, winners, and global leaders to celebrate achievements and introduce new initiatives.
Prince William expressed optimism about the progress made through the Earthshot Prize, highlighting the impact of supporting 75 Finalists and awarding £25 million in prize funds. He emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.
During the event, young campaigner Pranav Sharma commended Prince William’s commitment to optimism amidst global challenges. Clover Hogan praised the Earthshot platform for promoting solutions and uniting people in the fight against environmental issues.
Prince William also engaged with tech industry CEOs to urge greater environmental leadership. At London Climate Action Week, he led discussions with major tech companies to combat wildlife trafficking and emphasized the need for ambitious actions to protect the environment.
At the Frameless exhibition near Marble Arch, Prince William, accompanied by actors Emma Watson and Benedict Cumberbatch, encouraged business leaders to be bolder in their environmental efforts.
