“Tesco Launches Digital Clubcard for 16-17-Year-Olds”

Published on

Tesco has introduced a new version of its Tesco Clubcard tailored specifically for 16 and 17-year-olds. This update allows younger customers to access a wide range of Clubcard Prices deals for the first time and earn Clubcard points that can later be converted into vouchers.

Typically, the Tesco Clubcard is only accessible to individuals aged 18 and above. However, the new digital Clubcard for 16-17-year-olds can only be accessed through the Tesco app or website. To enroll, teenagers must receive an invitation from a parent or guardian who holds a Clubcard account.

Parents or guardians can send a sign-up link to their 16 or 17-year-old by navigating to their account settings, clicking on “Invite to Clubcard,” and selecting the appropriate option. The “Invite to Clubcard” button is visible only in the latest version of the Tesco app. It is worth noting that over 24 million households in the UK possess a Tesco Clubcard.

Shama Wilson, Tesco’s Group Membership & Loyalty Director, expressed enthusiasm about granting younger customers access to the Tesco Clubcard for the first time. The new Clubcard for 16-17-year-olds allows members to benefit from Clubcard Prices in-store, including deals like the Tesco lunchtime meal offer for just £3.85, and accumulate points that can be redeemed for discounts on their shopping.

Tesco shoppers earn one Clubcard point for every £1 spent in stores or for every two liters of fuel purchased at a Tesco forecourt. Additionally, points can be collected through transactions with Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile. For instance, using a Clubcard Credit Card at Tesco rewards customers with five points for every £4 spent, or one point for every £8 spent elsewhere.

Furthermore, Tesco Mobile users can earn one Clubcard point for every £1 spent on pay monthly bills or top-ups. A minimum of 150 points is required to obtain a Clubcard voucher, which equates to £1.50 to be utilized at Tesco. By leveraging Rewards Partners like Pizza Express, Alton Towers, or Hotels.com, customers can maximize the value of their Clubcard vouchers by doubling or tripling their worth.
