A major brewery has revealed plans to cover a £1 million bar tab in the event that any of three specific teams reach the World Cup final.
BrewDog, which originated in Scotland in 2007, has pledged complimentary pints for soccer enthusiasts if the national teams of England, Scotland, or the United States manage to advance to the final stage of the tournament. This special offer will kick in from July 20, the day following the final match.
To take advantage of this promotion, individuals sporting the jersey of the England, Scotland, or USA teams can visit designated BrewDog bars or pubs. Each fan is eligible to receive a maximum of two free pints per visit.
The announcement coincides with a surge in attendance at the brewery’s bars during the World Cup, where the establishments have transformed into lively hubs for fans.
Irwin Simon, the chairman and chief executive of Tilray Brands, remarked, “Historically, bars have served as gathering spots for fans to enjoy games, engage in conversations, and raise a toast or two.”
Simon expressed readiness to celebrate alongside fans at BrewDog’s participating bars and brewpubs if any of the three nations make it to the final.
This initiative follows Tilray Brands’ acquisition of BrewDog earlier this year. Following BrewDog’s administration, which led to layoffs and bar closures, Tilray acquired the company’s UK brewing operations, brand, and 11 pubs in a deal worth £33 million.
The offer will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until the £1 million tab is exhausted at eligible establishments in England, Scotland, Ireland, Las Vegas, and select brewpubs in the United States.
Moreover, participating BrewDog bars will host various big-screen events throughout the summer, including tennis and motor racing.
