Prince George to Attend Eton College in September

As the summer break approaches, the Princess of Wales is preparing for a significant change concerning her eldest son, Prince George.

It has been announced that starting in September, Prince George, second in line to the throne, will attend Eton College, a prestigious school where his father, Prince William, also studied. This decision comes after four happy years at Lambrook, where he attended alongside his siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Prince George is expected to become a full-time boarder at Eton, a choice carefully considered by Kate and William since last September. Royal expert Jennie Bond notes Kate’s pride in her son and highlights the couple’s commitment to choosing what is best for each of their children.

Reflecting on George’s growth and confidence, Bond emphasized the careful nurturing provided by his parents. Eton, a renowned institution that has educated numerous prominent figures, was chosen for various reasons, including its safety and proximity to the family home.

While the decision likely involved some deliberation, William’s positive experience at Eton, where he excelled academically and in sports, was a significant factor. The school’s emphasis on privacy, academic excellence, and sports aligns with the royal couple’s belief in providing a secure environment for their children.

As George transitions to Eton in September, he will experience a significant change at the age of 13. While this move may be challenging for the family, especially for Kate, who values their home as a sanctuary, it is seen as a crucial step in George’s development.

Eton, established in 1440, offers a diverse curriculum and extensive sports facilities, providing students like George with a rich educational experience. Upon arrival, George will adjust to the school’s unique traditions, including its distinctive uniform and daily schedule.

Despite some raised eyebrows over the traditional choice of Eton, the focus remains on George’s well-being and safety in an era of heightened public scrutiny. Bond highlights the school’s history of nurturing students from high-profile families and ensuring a supportive environment for their growth.

Overall, the decision to send Prince George to Eton reflects the royal couple’s commitment to providing him with a well-rounded education and a supportive community. The move signifies a new chapter in George’s life, where he will have the opportunity to thrive academically and personally under the guidance of experienced educators.
