A 75-year-old man, previously known as George Quigley but now legally named Santa Claus, has been apprehended by law enforcement in a sting operation targeting individuals seeking illicit contact with minors. The man, residing in New Orleans, was captured by Kenner Police while dressed in traditional Santa attire, complete with a long grey beard.

Authorities stated that Claus was taken into custody after arranging a face-to-face meeting with an undercover detective posing as a 15-year-old boy. He now faces charges related to solicitation of a minor through electronic means and inappropriate conduct with a juvenile.

According to Kenner Police, Claus had detailed plans for engaging in sexual activities with the supposed child and had arranged to rendezvous in Kenner. However, upon reaching the meeting spot, he was intercepted by detectives and promptly arrested.

This incident is part of a larger operation that led to the arrest of 11 individuals by the Kenner Police over the weekend. Chief Keith Conley emphasized the critical need to safeguard children from online dangers, highlighting the deceptive tactics used by predators. He warned that individuals exploiting minors online will be pursued and prosecuted to prevent harm to children.

The arrest of Santa Claus, who had been luring children under a false guise, serves as a stark reminder to parents and guardians about the risks posed by online predators. Chief Conley stressed the commitment of law enforcement to identify and apprehend individuals preying on vulnerable youths before they can cause harm.
