“New Witnesses and Mobile Phone Evidence Could Impact Dubai Murder Case”

Published on

New potential witnesses in the murder case of a British woman facing the death penalty in Dubai may have crucial evidence on their mobile phones. Brooke George, 23, remains detained in Dubai following her arrest in connection with the death of William Treeby, 26. George claims self-defense in response to an alleged attack but risks a severe penalty if found guilty.

Detained in Dubai, an organization aiding expatriates in the city, has shared pertinent information with UK and UAE authorities. It is reported that five individuals, including George, Treeby, two male acquaintances, and a maid, were present at Treeby’s apartment on the night of the incident. One of the men is reportedly sought by Kent Police.

Advocates suggest that data on the men’s phones could help establish a timeline of events and identify additional witnesses. They emphasize the importance of interviewing individuals in the UK who received calls from the apartment after Treeby’s demise. Detained in Dubai’s Radha Stirling has forwarded intelligence to relevant authorities in both countries.

The legal advocacy group’s CEO stressed the necessity of a thorough investigation, given the gravity of the situation and the potential consequences for George. Securing any mobile phone evidence promptly is crucial to prevent its loss. Recent revelations about Treeby’s previous convictions have added complexity to the case.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office confirmed ongoing support for George and her family, maintaining contact with local authorities. George’s mother expressed concerns about her daughter’s well-being leading up to the incident, highlighting changes in her behavior and demeanor. She appealed for assistance, describing George’s distress in a phone call preceding the tragic event.
