A young man from Mexico City tragically lost his life after a crocodile attacked him while he was taking photos at Marina Vallarta Beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The victim, identified as Irving Mauricio, was 28 years old. The shocking incident unfolded on a Friday evening when screams were heard from the water’s edge as the 12-foot crocodile bit into Irving’s leg.
Despite efforts by emergency services, Irving succumbed to the attack, and his lifeless body was found more than 12 hours later. His grieving mother expressed her heartbreak in a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, calling Irving her “beautiful, loving boy” and vowing to stay strong for her other children.
Witnesses, including an American couple, Jamie Yetter and Chris Bury, recounted the harrowing scene of Irving being repeatedly attacked by the crocodile. They described feeling helpless as the massive predator overpowered the victim. Irving’s family was informed of his tragic death after authorities conducted an extensive search and recovery operation.
