A woman in her twenties was swiftly taken to the hospital after a hit-and-run incident in Birmingham. The pedestrian was crossing Foxton Road in Alum Rock when a silver hatchback struck her, causing her to be thrown onto the road around 1:30 pm on Monday. The driver of the car did not slow down before the collision and left the scene without checking on the injured woman.

Witnesses came to the woman’s aid as she sustained severe injuries. Emergency services responded to the scene, providing initial treatment for her serious injuries before transporting her to Heartlands Hospital.

Following the incident, an ambulance spokeswoman confirmed that they received a report of a road traffic collision on Foxton Road in Birmingham. The pedestrian, a female, suffered potentially severe injuries and was taken to Heartlands Hospital for further treatment.

West Midlands Police have initiated an investigation to locate the driver involved in the hit-and-run. They have requested anyone with relevant information to come forward. Reports indicate that the woman’s injuries are not life-threatening.

In response to the incident and the community’s concerns, Zaheer Akbar from Alum Rock Community Forum, along with a local PCSO, are working on implementing a ‘Speed Watch’ program to address reckless driving in the area, prompted by numerous complaints from residents.
