Published on

A targeted attack occurred outside the residence of Campbell Hatton, leading to the torching of a car that belonged to his late father, Ricky Hatton. The incident, which took place in Hattersley, Hyde, prompted an investigation by authorities following the destruction of the vehicle and a smashed front window.

Campbell Hatton, son of the former boxing world champion Ricky Hatton who passed away at 46 last September, expressed his dismay over the incident on social media. He mentioned that the burnt car held sentimental value as it was one of the few possessions left by his father, and appealed for any information or footage that could assist in identifying the perpetrators.

Greater Manchester Police responded to the blaze that was reported at around 11:45pm on Monday. Emergency services, including the fire department, conducted thorough investigations at the scene on Tuesday. Despite the ongoing inquiries, no arrests have been made yet in connection with the deliberate car fire.

Authorities stated that the incident appeared to be a targeted attack with no immediate threat to the public safety. They called for the public’s cooperation in providing any relevant information to aid in the investigation process. Additionally, fire and rescue services were summoned the following morning due to a reported gas leak, which was promptly resolved without any reported injuries.

Individuals with information related to the incident are urged to contact the police through the provided channels for assistance in resolving the case.
