A small community is in shock after a tragic incident where one child was airlifted to the hospital, and two twin girls, only 15 months old, were discovered deceased at the same location. The parents of the children have been accused of neglect leading to the death of a minor under 15 years old. The twins were found lifeless in their bed in Beuvrages, near Valenciennes in France. The parents, aged 32 and 35, were formally charged on July 1, as reported by RTL.
Following a post-mortem examination, it was determined that the twin sisters passed away due to dehydration and malnutrition. Their four other siblings, aged three to six, who also resided at the property, were found to be dehydrated, with one in critical condition and airlifted to the hospital, according to RTL. The family lives in social housing managed by Société immobilière du Grand Hainaut (SIGH).
The parents contacted emergency services upon discovering the twins unresponsive. The Valenciennes prosecutor’s office confirmed the charges against the parents and their detainment. The surviving siblings have been placed under the care of Child Welfare Services. The family had not been under the supervision of a juvenile court judge, as reported by LeParisien. The mayor of Beuvrages mentioned that the family had recently moved to the area just two months before the tragic incident occurred.
