“US Offers $100 Billion Deal to Iran for Strait of Hormuz Access”

Published on

The United States has proposed a $100 billion deal to Iran to stop charging fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Talks between the US and Oman are ongoing to ease Iran’s stance, offering to release a portion of the frozen Iranian funds as leverage. Iran has rejected the offer, asserting its control over the strait and issuing warnings against unauthorized vessel routes.

Iran’s negotiator and deputy foreign minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, emphasized Iran’s authority over the strait, dismissing US claims. Iran also issued a strong warning of immediate action against vessels deviating from approved routes.

This development marks a significant shift in the ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran regarding maritime activities in the region.
