André Gayoso, 35, was targeted by a thief on a bike who snatched his phone while he was waiting for an Uber after a night out. Determined to catch the thief, André fell and suffered severe injuries, including a broken jaw and the loss of six teeth, resulting in a 13-day coma.
To restore his jaw, André underwent multiple surgeries utilizing bone and skin grafts from his right leg.
