John Robertson, a 35-year-old father of three from Ayr, Scotland, recently received a heartbreaking diagnosis of stage four oesophageal adenocarcinoma after experiencing difficulty swallowing and significant weight loss. Following a visit to his GP, he underwent an endoscopy that revealed a large tumour in his oesophagus, with the cancer having also spread to other parts of his body. Doctors have given him approximately nine months to live, leaving him devastated at the thought of not being able to witness his children grow up or share a future with his wife, Nicole.
Despite being in good health prior to his symptoms, John is now facing the reality of his condition and the limited time he has left. He has shared his emotional journey, expressing his desire to be present for his children’s milestones and create lasting memories with his family. John has initiated a fundraising campaign to support his pursuit of private treatment options and potential clinical trials, aiming to make the most of the time he has left with his loved ones.
As he prepares for chemotherapy and potential feeding tube insertion, John remains determined to fight his illness and cherish every moment with his family. He is hopeful about participating in advanced treatments abroad and is focused on making the most of his remaining time, aiming to create a lifetime of memories in the upcoming months.
