England cricketer Nat Sciver-Brunt raised concerns about Rita Ora’s upcoming performance potentially disrupting the team’s preparation for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 final. The International Cricket Council had scheduled the 35-year-old singer to perform on the main outfield during the crucial time when teams usually mark their bowling run-ups and practice on the square.

Initially, both the England and Australia squads were informed that they would have to prepare on the smaller Lord’s Nursery Ground in London as they would be prohibited from using the main outfield during the concert. This decision did not sit well with Captain Sciver-Brunt, who mentioned that her bowlers preferred the actual match-adjacent tracks over the net-heavy training ground. Following complaints, a last-minute adjustment was made to allow bowlers to warm up on the main ground before the performance.

Sciver-Brunt expressed, “There were a few concerns with the pre-game arrangements. Our bowlers usually like to bowl on specific wickets before the game. We were a bit disappointed initially, but it’s all part of playing in a final with many external factors. Hopefully, we can proceed with our preparations as usual.”
