“Inside UK’s Posh Premier Inn: A Stylish Stay Under £100”

Published on

I had the opportunity to stay at what is considered the most luxurious Premier Inn in the UK, and my initial impression was quite remarkable even before reaching my assigned room.

As the largest hotel chain in the UK, Premier Inn offers over 85,000 rooms in more than 800 locations across the country, ensuring a comfortable night’s rest. Renowned for its affordable accommodations, high-quality white linens, and memorable Lenny Henry commercials, Premier Inn is a trusted brand owned by Whitbread.

In addition to its standard offerings, Premier Inn has expanded its portfolio with Zip by Premier Inn and hub by Premier, providing cost-effective rooms that do not compromise on comfort. One hub, located in a former Victorian Old Bailey building in central London and dubbed the ‘UK’s poshest Premier Inn,’ caught my attention following its opening earlier this year.

Amidst the multitude of hotel options in London, the hub by Premier Inn London Farringdon (Old Bailey) stood out due to its vibrant central location and unique setting within the historic Snow Hill Police Station. This Grade II-listed 1870s building seamlessly blends Victorian architecture with modern interiors, offering guests an affordable and distinctive accommodation experience starting at £75 per night.

Upon entering the hotel, I was captivated by the grandeur of the white-tiled stairway, lofty ceilings, arched windows, and preserved police station elements that added a touch of nostalgia to the modern design. The reception area exuded a contemporary ambiance, contrasting with the building’s historical charm.

The communal lounge adjacent to the reception provided a cozy space for guests to relax, featuring elegant furnishings and a welcoming atmosphere akin to a home away from home. The hotel also boasts a bar serving beverages and a dining area where guests can enjoy breakfast or late-night snacks like their delicious pizzas.

During my stay, I occupied a standard room equipped with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. Despite its compact size, the room efficiently utilized the 11sqm space, offering ample storage options and a functional layout. The room’s thoughtful design included a wall-mounted London map, convenient shelving, and modern amenities such as electronically controlled lighting and air conditioning.

The hub by Premier Inn London Farringdon (Old Bailey) provided a secure and comfortable retreat in the heart of London, proving that a budget-friendly stay does not equate to sacrificing convenience or style. Staying in a former police station added a unique touch to my lodging experience, confirming its status as the UK’s most elegant Premier Inn.

Room rates start at £75 per night, and for bookings or further details, visit the hub by Premier Inn website.
