After the passing of her mother, actress Janey Godley, in November 2024, BBC personality Ashley Storrie faced emotional distress as her phone service was abruptly disconnected. Storrie, known for her roles in comedy series like Dinosaur and What’s the Story, Ashley Storrie?, shared her frustrating experience on social media platforms.
In an Instagram video, Storrie tearfully recounted the ordeal of transferring ownership of the family phone accounts from her late mother to herself. Despite providing necessary documentation, including the death certificate and business details, she encountered obstacles with her phone provider, EE.
Expressing her exasperation, Storrie mentioned the company’s insistence on speaking to her deceased mother and their repeated requests for information she had already provided. After persistent efforts through phone calls and emails, Storrie finally announced the resolution of the issue.
In an update on Instagram, Storrie expressed relief that the matter had been resolved, confirming the restoration of her and her father’s phone services. She also expressed frustration towards the numerous bureaucratic hurdles she faced during the process.
