According to reports, a blue Nissan Qashqai accelerated from traffic lights, mounting the curb and striking a 31-year-old man who sustained severe head injuries. Additionally, the car hit a 50-year-old man in a wheelchair within the pedestrianized zone. Despite immediate medical attention, the 50-year-old victim was declared deceased at the scene.

The 31-year-old male victim is currently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while a 13-year-old boy suffered minor wounds during the incident. A 30-year-old man from Bradford was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other traffic violations. He has been released on police bail pending further investigation.
