A man’s body was found in a wooded area inside a suitcase, with two individuals now facing charges in connection with a murder case.
The deceased, identified as Dale Mundell, aged 34 and from Islington, was located in Borstal, Kent, following a police response to a welfare concern call the night before at Kingfisher Court, off Queensmere Road, Wimbledon.
Although no one was found at the initial location, law enforcement suspected foul play and commenced an inquiry, leading to the discovery of the body in Kent the next day.
Two suspects were apprehended on the same day, subsequently making a court appearance at Medway Magistrates’ Court where they were remanded in custody.
Joshua Miller, 32, residing in Wimbledon, faces charges of murder and unlawfully preventing burial, while Jamie Cooper, 27, from the same address, is accused of unlawfully preventing burial.
The suspects are believed to have had a prior acquaintance with the victim, Dale Mundell, whose family is receiving support from specialized officers.
A statement from the Metropolitan Police disclosed the victim’s identity and detailed the sequence of events leading up to the discovery of the body in Kent. The investigation is ongoing as the circumstances surrounding Mundell’s death are treated as suspicious.
The two accused individuals, Miller and Cooper, were formally charged and appeared in court, where they were remanded in custody. It was confirmed that the victim and the suspects had prior connections with each other.
