Beckham Comforted by Victoria After England’s World Cup Defeat

Published on

David Beckham found solace in his wife Victoria after England faced another defeat against Argentina in the World Cup. Thomas Tuchel’s team lost their lead in Atlanta, allowing the South American side to come from behind and secure the victory.

Argentina will now advance to the final against Spain on Sunday. Former England captain Beckham appeared devastated at the end of the match, with Posh Spice comforting him in the stands. Their son Cruz, 21, was also seen trying to console his father with a hug as Beckham held back tears.

The Beckham family had been enjoying the game as England seemed on course to reach the World Cup final after Anthony Gordon’s goal. However, Argentina’s quick turnaround with two goals shattered their hopes and those of the nation.

This marked England’s fourth appearance in a World Cup semi-final, following their previous showings in 1966, 1990, and 2014. Despite Anthony Gordon putting the Three Lions ahead, Argentina’s Enzo Fernández equalized before Lautaro Martínez sealed a 2-1 victory, eliminating England from the tournament and setting up a final against Spain.

Victoria has been a regular presence in the stands throughout the tournament. She faced criticism for her seemingly indifferent reaction to the win against Norway, which went viral. Despite the online backlash, David defended his wife, insisting that she was celebrating internally, although her reactions appeared subdued compared to his.

After the game, the family took a celebratory photo, with David expressing pride in England’s performance and thanking the team for the memorable moments. While Cruz and Romeo have been supportive, Brooklyn has kept his distance following a feud and remained silent on the matter.

Brooklyn even joked about the situation in a stateside commercial, hinting at watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home with a cryptic message suggesting more to come. The family dynamics and reactions have been a subject of interest, with fans closely following their World Cup journey.
