Nadia Sawalha has recently hinted at potential changes in her role on the TV show Loose Women amidst rumors of her suspension. The 61-year-old has been absent from the program since April, when she last appeared alongside Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan, and Jane Moore.
After speculations arose about Nadia’s prolonged absence, ITV publicly refuted claims of her suspension. In a recent interview with Bella Magazine, the presenter teased about her future on the show, stating, “Let me just say this, we’ll have an answer on that very soon!”
During her time away from Loose Women, Nadia and her husband Mark Adderley have maintained engagement with their followers through their YouTube channel, boasting 157,000 subscribers. Additionally, they introduced a new show called Mrs and Mister: Lunchtime Laugh and launched a podcast named Coffee Moaning. Describing their lunchtime show, Nadia expressed, “I’m in the driving seat. I’m in charge and this is the way it’s always going to be.”
Addressing previous rumors of her removal from the Loose Women lineup, Nadia clarified on Instagram, “One of which is that I have been suspended from Loose Women. I have not been suspended from Loose Women.” Having been part of the show for approximately 16 years, Nadia first joined in 1999, left in 2002, and later returned in 2013. She had expressed concerns about the show’s alterations following an ITV restructuring, which reduced the number of episodes to 30 weeks per year and eliminated the live audience.
Reflecting on the changes, Nadia lamented the impact on her colleagues behind the scenes who had lost their jobs. “We’re all going to miss the audience terribly, but how it will affect the dynamic of the show, who knows?” she shared.
As part of ITV’s schedule adjustment, Good Morning Britain was extended by 30 minutes, running from 6am to 9:30am daily. Consequently, the show Lorraine was cut back to 30 minutes and now airs for 30 weeks annually. Loose Women continues to air on weekdays at 12.30pm on both ITV and ITVX.
