A determined father fulfilled his pledge to set a new world record following a significant triumph on ITV’s The 1% Club. Nathan Davies, a 32-year-old project manager and father of two, secured a Guinness World Records title by consuming the most fish fingers in one minute, devouring a remarkable 15 pieces within the time limit.
Nathan initially shared his ambition while appearing on ITV’s The 1% Club, where he won a substantial £98,000 prize. Driven by his commitment, he targeted a Guinness World Records achievement, selecting fish fingers for the challenge due to their prevalence in his household with his young sons.
Before the official attempt, Nathan tested his ability by consuming four fish fingers quickly and determined that the challenge was feasible. Subsequently, he successfully completed the record-breaking feat by consuming 15 fish fingers within a minute.
Despite officially entering the Guinness World Records roster, Nathan expressed a sense of surrealism about his accomplishment, stating that while he is proud of holding a world record, he finds it amusing that it pertains to fish fingers.
Reflecting on his achievement, Nathan believed he could have exceeded his performance if the fish fingers had cooled down further before the attempt. He acknowledged that while he might have achieved a higher tally with better cooling, he is content with his record.
Nathan’s recent success follows his significant cash prize on The 1% Club, where he initially expressed his aspiration to set a world record. With this latest triumph, he adds a Guinness World Records title to his list of accomplishments.
As for pursuing additional unusual records in the future, Nathan humorously remarked that his wife might have a say in the matter, suggesting that his next record-breaking attempt could be subject to her approval.
