Kaylee Hottle, known for her role in Godzilla vs Kong, has tragically passed away following a car accident, as confirmed by her father, Joshua Hottle. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in Maryland, US.

Kaylee, who portrayed a character who communicated with Kong using sign language in the movie, was a source of inspiration for many worldwide. Her father expressed his grief in a Facebook livestream, stating, “I am taking a journey that I never wished for.”

The Texas School for the Deaf, where Kaylee was a student, released a statement mourning her loss. They shared their sorrow over the tragic accident that took the life of Kaylee, emphasizing the impact her passing will have on the community.

Born in 2007 into a deaf family, Kaylee found success in her acting career after landing the role of Jia in Godzilla vs. Kong. She was selected for the part by casting director Sarah Halley Finn, who was specifically looking for a deaf actress to portray the character.

Aside from her role in the blockbuster film, Kaylee also appeared in a season 4 episode of the Magnum P.I reboot, playing a character named Joon.

In the wake of this heartbreaking news, counseling and support services are being provided for students and staff, with additional assistance offered to Kaylee’s classmates and friends during this difficult time.
