“Reverend and the Makers Frontman Hospitalized Before Festival”

An iconic figure in the world of independent music has been admitted to the hospital just days before headlining a major weekend festival. Jon McClure, known for his role in Reverend and the Makers, shared that he is experiencing pain and feeling shaken but is determined not to disappoint his fans.

The 44-year-old musician is scheduled to be the main act at the upcoming Tramlines Festival in Sheffield, his hometown. Despite being hospitalized due to what he described as a foolish accident, he assured his followers of his commitment to performing at the event.

Taking to Instagram, Jon disclosed, “I had an accident yesterday while doing something silly on a scooter. It was my own mistake, and I feel somewhat foolish and embarrassed, to be honest.” He further revealed, “I’m currently in the hospital waiting to find out if I have a cracked rib. The pain is quite intense.” Nevertheless, he expressed his determination to be on stage as promised over the weekend.

Assuring his fans, Jon stated, “Regardless of the circumstances, the gigs this weekend at @togetheragainfest and @tramlines will proceed, even if I have to medicate myself heavily. Hopefully, it’s just a minor injury.” He also mentioned that he may need some extra care and support from the audience, saying, “I might need a hug. This incident really shook me up, and I’m feeling a bit down.”

The official Instagram account of Tramlines Festival assured Jon that he would be taken care of during his performance, commenting, “Wishing you a swift recovery! We’ll ensure you are well looked after on Sunday.”

This news follows a successful summer for the band, where their track “Silence Is Talking” became an unofficial anthem for England during the World Cup. Despite not achieving victory, the revamped version of the song resonated with Three Lions supporters, who sang new lyrics to the tune, including references to coach Thomas Tuchel.

Reflecting on the experience, Jon expressed his pride in the band’s music reaching a global audience. He emphasized the importance of unity beyond sporting events, advocating for maintaining a sense of togetherness and positivity in society.
