Professional dancer and Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood recently shared a harrowing experience from his vacation in Spain, where he was attacked and robbed in Madrid. The 61-year-old revealed that he was stabbed and had his jewelry stolen before facing a strip search for drugs while trying to leave the country.
Speaking on the Judgemental podcast alongside fellow Strictly judge Anton Du Beke, Revel Horwood recounted the ordeal, describing how he was assaulted with a razor blade on his way back from a club in the early hours of the morning. Despite the unfortunate incident, he humorously mentioned the chaotic turn of events during his holiday in Madrid, which included being strip-searched upon his return.
Additionally, the TV personality shared another misfortune he encountered during a trip to Kenya, where he arrived at the airport only to discover that his hotel had burned down. Despite the setbacks, he managed to find alternative accommodations and went on to enjoy a cruise down the River Nile.
Revel Horwood also mentioned an episode of food poisoning among travelers during the trip to Kenya, attributing it to consuming contaminated chicken the previous evening. The incident resulted in several individuals falling ill with salmonella poisoning.
As fans eagerly await the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing, set to premiere on BBC One and iPlayer this September, Revel Horwood’s candid recount of his tumultuous experiences serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of travel and life’s unexpected twists.
