A renowned chef from the BBC Great British Menu, Anthony Demetre, has made the difficult decision to close his Vermuteria restaurant in King’s Cross after nearly a decade of operation. The closure was announced by Demetre on Instagram, expressing his deep sadness for the loyal customers, staff, and supporters of the establishment.

Vermuteria, which first opened its doors eight years ago at Coal Drops Yard, offered a diverse European menu along with a selection of vermouths. The restaurant, a collaboration between Demetre and designer Michael Sodeau, drew inspiration from eateries in Italy, France, and Spain.

Despite the closure, Demetre remains the owner of the Michelin-starred Wild Honey St James restaurant located on Pall Mall. He expressed gratitude to the patrons who had supported Vermuteria over the years, reflecting on the memorable experiences shared at the establishment.
