A 15-year-old teenager, previously known for alarming a community by dressed as a frightening clown and making unnerving visits to homes, is now under suspicion for the murder of a 76-year-old man in Illinois. The incident unfolded in East St. Louis when authorities responded to a report of a body on the street around 10pm on August 3. The victim, John Wesley Allen Sr., had succumbed to multiple stab wounds, as confirmed by the coroner’s examination.

The Illinois State Police apprehended the teenager the following day in connection with the elderly man’s death. Prior to the tragic event, the teenager had been spotted in the neighborhood, instilling fear among residents by delivering eerie messages at their doorsteps while clad as a menacing clown. Surveillance footage from a doorbell camera captured the individual approaching a residence around 9pm, approximately an hour before law enforcement was notified.

Witnesses recounted seeing the teen wielding a large knife while walking from house to house that evening. One resident, Corrine Spry, described observing the clown with a knife from her backyard before the police intervened. Another witness, Lee Palmer, recounted how the clown figure appeared on his mother’s porch, causing distress due to the unsettling nature of the encounter.
