Two social media influencers have been found guilty of mistreating and causing harm to a French online personality who passed away during a live extreme challenge stream. The incident involving Raphael Graven, also known as Jean Pormanove, occurred last August in a village close to Nice when his co-streamers discovered him unconscious on a bed, prompting the broadcast to be abruptly halted. The stream on the Kick platform had been ongoing for over 298 hours.

Safine Hamadi and Owen Cenazandotti were convicted of aggravated violence in connection to the death of Pormanove, who was reportedly subjected to continuous humiliation and abuse within his content. Both individuals received suspended prison sentences from a court in Nice, with Hamadi given an 18-month suspended sentence and Cenazandotti handed a two-year suspended prison term. Additionally, they were each fined €5,000 and €15,000, respectively, and prohibited from posting online for six months.

Despite the severe mistreatment endured by Pormanove during the live broadcasts, neither Hamadi nor Cenazandotti faced charges related to his death, as authorities concluded that his passing was likely due to underlying health issues rather than direct actions by the accused. The court also cleared the pair of exploiting Pormanove’s psychological vulnerability, as the influencer had previously asserted his consent to the extreme challenges.

The investigation revealed a disturbing pattern of deliberate violence against vulnerable individuals and the dissemination of offensive content, as co-streamers reportedly engaged in mistreatment encouraged by financial incentives from viewers. Kick, the streaming platform, emphasized that the legal repercussions were directed solely at the two content creators involved, distancing itself from the ongoing probe conducted by French authorities.
