The Montreal Roses took swift action by parting ways with head coach Robert Rositoiu following their elimination from the W Canadian Championship. The club’s decision was announced by sporting director Marinette Pichon in a news release on Thursday morning, expressing gratitude for Rositoiu’s foundational contributions to the professional women’s soccer team. Pichon emphasized the need for a fresh approach to navigate the remaining season and propel the club’s growth.

With a current second-place position in the Northern Super League (NSL) and 27 points, the Roses have 10 regular-season matches remaining. Rositoiu was appointed head coach in September 2024 in preparation for the team’s debut season in the NSL in 2025.

In the interim, Maryse Bard-Martel, the team’s former first assistant coach and head of goalkeeping, will step in as the interim head coach. Bard-Martel will lead the team in their upcoming match against AFC Toronto as the club begins the search for a permanent replacement for Rositoiu.
