Canada’s head coach, Cindy Tye, has unveiled the squad that will compete in the upcoming under-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland next month. The roster consists of 21 players, comprising three goalkeepers, five defenders, eight midfielders, and five forwards. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 5 to 27.
In addition to the main squad, six alternates will accompany the team to Poland to assist in preparations before the World Cup commences. The team, including players, coaches, and staff, will convene in Lublin, Poland, on August 23, before relocating to their tournament base camp in Bielsko-Biala on August 30. Ahead of the competition, they will face Spain in a closed-door match on August 31.
Canada, one of the 24 nations participating in the tournament, has been placed in Group B. Their campaign will kick off against England on September 5, followed by a clash with Brazil on September 8. The group stage will conclude on September 11 with a match against Tanzania.
The Canadian team secured their spot in the U-20 World Cup by triumphing at the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship. This victory marked the country’s third regional title.
Coach Tye expressed the team’s readiness for the challenge ahead, acknowledging the high level of competition they will face at the World Cup. She emphasized the importance of embracing the challenge, competing with confidence, and seizing the opportunity to represent Canada on the global stage.
The full roster comprises three goalkeepers – Noelle Henning (Michigan State University), Madison London (Creighton University), Khadijah Cisse (University of Kentucky); five defenders – Bridget Mutipula (Florida State University/Vancouver Rise FC), Iba Oching (University of Iowa), Janet Okeke (Florida State University), Stephanie Schoeley (Providence College), Chloe Taylor (Vancouver Rise FC); eight midfielders – Olivia Chisholm (AFC Toronto), Jadea Collin (University of Wisconsin—Madison), Sienna Gibson (University of British Columbia), Jeneva Hernandez Gray (Sporting CP), Teegan Melenhorst (University of Miami), Ines Nourani (University of Connecticut), Noelle Sather (Baylor University), Liana Tarasco (University of Iowa); and five forwards – Sariyah Bailey (Louisiana State University), Annabelle Chukwu (University of Notre Dame), Kaylee Hunter (AFC Toronto), Lea Larouche (University of Iowa), Emma Yee (University of Illinois).
The alternates selected are Amy Medley (Arizona State University), Victoria Rocci (University of South Alabama), Taegen Stewart (Calgary Wild), Emily Wong (North Carolina State University), Kierra Blundell (Arizona State University), and Melisa Kekic (University of Michigan).
