Demi Lovato has decided not to reprise her role for the upcoming Camp Rock 3. The 33-year-old singer rose to stardom after portraying Mitchie Torres in the 2008 Disney Channel Original movie, appearing alongside the Jonas Brothers, Alyson Stoner, and Meaghan Martin.

The film centered around Mitchie, a hopeful singer/songwriter who could only afford to attend the summer camp if her mother worked there as a chef. Inspired by the success of High School Musical, Camp Rock followed Demi’s character as she navigated camp rivalries and found the courage to perform in a major competition.

Although the movie spawned a sequel in 2010 with Demi reprising her role, she later left her own sitcom, “Sonny With A Chance,” after one season due to personal challenges. However, a third installment of Camp Rock has been confirmed, with the Jonas Brothers returning alongside Maria Canals-Barrera, who played Demi’s mother.

Demi Lovato will not be part of the cast for Camp Rock 3 but will serve as an executive producer alongside the Jonas Brothers. Sherry Cola has joined the cast as Lark, along with a new group of actors playing camp newcomers. The storyline will revolve around Connect 3 searching for a replacement act for their reunion tour at Camp Rock.

In the late 2000s, Demi Lovato, who was romantically linked to Joe Jonas, was a prominent figure on Disney Channel alongside stars like Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and the Sprouse twins. Earlier this year, Demi surprised fans with a Camp Rock reunion performance with the Jonas Brothers during their 20th-anniversary tour in New Jersey.
