A 62-year-old British woman, Sue Adams, is currently in critical condition at an Ibiza hospital after collapsing in her hotel bathroom due to suspected heat stroke. Sue and her husband, James, traveled to the Balearic island on August 29 for a week-long vacation. On their first day, they relaxed by the pool and had an evening meal before returning to their hotel room around 9:30 pm.
At 4 am, James heard a noise and discovered his wife unconscious on the bathroom floor with a swollen eye. He immediately sought help, and Sue was taken to the hospital where she underwent tests revealing two small fractures but no internal bleeding. She is currently in a coma, battling a lung infection and kidney failure.
While the exact cause of Sue’s condition remains unknown, it is suspected to be heat stroke leading to a fall and subsequent seizure. James, from Loftus in North Yorkshire, has set up a GoFundMe page to cover expenses as he remains by his wife’s side during her recovery.
Despite NHS covering Sue’s medical expenses, James faces financial strain due to accommodation and transportation costs in Spain. He hopes to raise enough funds to continue supporting Sue and potentially bring her back to the UK sooner. The GoFundMe initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden and ensure James can stay with his wife throughout her recovery process.
