Elon Musk faced criticism for attacking Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey following his controversial statements. Musk, the wealthiest individual globally, labeled Sir Ed a “craven coward” on Twitter/X after the latter urged Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch, and Nigel Farage to denounce Musk’s comments.

Sir Ed penned a letter to the trio, expressing concern over Musk’s attempts to incite violence and disrupt democracy. In response, the Lib Dem leader posted a mocking image of SpongeBob SquarePants, dismissing Musk as a coward.

Sir Ed called for unity among party leaders against Musk’s divisive actions, emphasizing the importance of upholding democratic values and the rule of law. He condemned Musk for spreading misinformation and inciting violence, urging clarity and action against such behavior.

The rally in central London, organized by far-right figure Tommy Robinson, drew around 150,000 attendees. Musk made a surprise appearance, calling for immediate government change and encouraging protesters to “fight back” or “die.”

Business Secretary Peter Kyle criticized Musk’s remarks as confusing and inappropriate, but acknowledged the demonstration as a display of freedom of speech and association.

Sir Ed’s plea for solidarity among party leaders to combat the misuse of influence for inciting violence emphasized the need to hold individuals accountable for their actions, regardless of their wealth or power.
