A man was shocked when he discovered a doll instead of his supposed deceased child in a coffin after his former partner informed him of the tragic news. Two years ago, Tahira Edilka Montero notified her ex-partner, Duvier Alexander Morales, that their child had passed away just three days after birth. However, upon inspection of the coffin, Duvier doubted the existence of the child and accused Montero of fabricating a pregnancy and organizing a funeral for a doll painted to resemble a newborn.

The incident unfolded in Panama City, where Montero claimed her child was born, but due to protests, the body was delayed in reaching Duvier’s hometown. During the funeral, Duvier’s family noticed discrepancies in the appearance of the deceased child’s attire, leading them to realize they were mourning a doll disguised as a human infant.

Duvier raised concerns to authorities, alleging deception regarding the baby’s death and expressing disbelief in Montero’s pregnancy. Despite their inquiries, the family could not locate the child’s birth records at the hospital. Montero has since been acquitted due to insufficient evidence supporting the charges, with the court’s decision to be made public on December 5, leaving many unanswered questions in the community.

The prosecution sought a lengthy prison sentence for Montero, accusing her of fabricating the pregnancy and orchestrating a fraudulent funeral, supported by the absence of birth records and fabricated documentation. Although Montero appeared detached during the trial, medical evaluations showed no mental health issues. Duvier’s legal team is contemplating an appeal as they continue to seek clarity on the perplexing events surrounding this case.
