According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanan Mekchai from Patong Police Station, the event took place around 11:30 am, with authorities receiving notice an hour later. Witness Chariya Thaweerat Howells, 31, described the scene where beachgoers initially assisted two distressed swimmers before realizing a third person was in trouble.
