Notorious female inmates who have committed heinous crimes at a prominent UK prison are reportedly in line for special holiday treatments, including opera classes, gift exchanges, and movie screenings. Lucy Letby, Constance Marten, and Beinash Batool, who are incarcerated at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey, may receive festive perks despite their serious offenses. They are expected to have a cozy Christmas with charity-funded presents and creative workshops featuring mince pies and chocolate.
Letby, aged 35, is serving a life sentence for the murder of seven infants and attempted murder of eight others during her time as a nurse. She is currently housed in Unit 4 of the prison. All inmates at the facility, including child murderers Marten, 38, and Batool, 31, are said to have a comfortable December ahead.
According to sources within the prison, the holiday season at Bronzefield is characterized by a lenient atmosphere, raising concerns, especially among victims’ families. Activities planned for the inmates include sending free Christmas cards through the ‘Jailbirds’ initiative associated with the charity Barnardo’s. Additionally, the charity PACT will provide gifts worth up to £20 for prisoners to send to their families.
Throughout December, the prisoners can expect quizzes, film screenings, and opera lessons at HMP Bronzefield. Chaplains at the prison will also distribute chocolates to each wing. On Christmas day, a lavish feast comprising turkey, chicken, and traditional trimmings will be served, followed by dessert options of yule log, ice cream, or pudding.
Reports suggest that Letby and Batool, who developed a friendship while incarcerated, spend time together conversing and playing cards. The pair bonded when Batool was placed in the same secure wing as Letby for her safety. They are known to spend time together on the wing, engaging in various activities.
The insider revealed that the child killers tend to stick together for mutual protection, explaining their close bond.
