Josie Gibson’s 5-Stone Weight Loss Turnaround

Published on

Josie Gibson, the popular host of This Morning, has impressed her fans with her remarkable transformation, shedding an impressive five stone after battling with fluctuating weight for years.

At 40 years old, the TV presenter is currently in her best shape ever, a stark contrast from her past struggles with weight issues. Her revamped appearance on This Morning has sparked considerable discussion among viewers.

Having previously fluctuated from a size 20 to a size eight in 2014, Josie openly discussed her weight journey. Despite releasing workout DVDs in the past, she faced challenges in maintaining her weight.

After resisting weight loss injections and enduring a rollercoaster ride with her weight, the ITV star seems to have discovered the perfect formula for staying fit and healthy.

The secrets behind her stunning physique are now unveiled in her new Channel 5 show, “The 1970s Diet: Could It Work for You?” In this series, the mother-of-one revamps her lifestyle in a bid to shed excess pounds.

Josie fully embraced the ‘1970s diet’ on the show, adopting the eating, drinking, and workout routines of that era to explore if following vintage trends could aid in weight loss.

In the two-part program airing on Wednesday and Thursday at 9 pm, Josie, originally from Bristol, receives an authentic meal plan from the 1970s through a nutritionist, featuring smaller portions and classic foods like boiled potatoes, liver, and spam.

Regarding her fitness level, Josie shared, “I was surprised to discover that despite being overweight, I had exceptional fitness. I had anticipated lower fitness levels despite my regular exercise routine, but it turned out I was in superior shape,” as she revealed to The Mirror.

Beyond dietary changes, Josie also delves into the fashion and exercise trends of the 1970s, embracing styles like flares and bold prints.

Reflecting on her experience with the 1970s diet, Josie expressed, ‘Adopting a full 1970s diet was quite challenging – a truly unique journey! The ’70s had some unconventional food trends, but what astonished me the most was the distinct approach to eating, exercising, and even shopping back then. It was an intriguing experience – viewers are in for a treat.’

Earlier this year, Josie proudly announced her remarkable five-stone weight loss achievement, emphasizing that her success was solely due to traditional methods of hard work, dedication, and education about nutrition.

She previously adhered to the Do The Unthinkable plan, a comprehensive 12-week fitness and nutrition regimen from MuscleFood, incorporating delivered meals, workout plans, and guidance to assist individuals in reaching their health objectives.
