Pierce Brosnan’s co-star in the film shared an insightful behind-the-scenes experience that shed light on the actor’s true nature. Amir El-Masry portrayed the character of boxer Naseem Hamed, also known as Prince Naseem, in a biographical movie depicting his life and achievements.
Working alongside him is Pierce, who underwent a significant transformation to portray Naseem’s coach, Brendan Ingle, in a nearly unrecognizable role. Dominic Ingle, Brendan’s son and a coach and manager himself, lauded Pierce for perfectly capturing his father’s mannerisms.
Tara Ingle, Brendan’s sister, expressed that Brendan would have been thrilled to know that a prominent figure like Pierce portrayed him in the film. Reflecting on the filming process, Amir highlighted Pierce’s admirable character, particularly after an injury incident on set.
Describing Pierce as “magnetic,” Amir emphasized the actor’s exemplary values and morals. In a moment of adversity when Amir dislocated his finger, Pierce prioritized his co-star’s well-being and called for a temporary halt to filming, emphasizing the importance of health over production concerns.
Pierce’s own experience with on-set injuries, such as being hospitalized during the filming of a James Bond movie, has given him a perspective on the physical demands of acting. Despite the risks, Pierce remains dedicated to his craft, having portrayed the iconic character in four Bond films and appearing in various other successful productions.
When asked about retirement plans, Pierce expressed gratitude for his career and the opportunities it has provided for him and his family. He remains enthusiastic about acting, finding it invigorating and integral to his life at this stage of his career.
