Adam Boynton, the Senior Security Strategy Manager EMEIA at Jamf, emphasized the importance of addressing the recent vulnerability highlighted by Google. He stated that the security bulletin addresses a serious flaw discovered in 2025, now patched at the Android platform level. The vulnerability, known as CVE-2025-54957, involves a weakness in Dolby’s DD+ Unified Decoder that allows attackers to run malicious code, particularly affecting the decoding of audio attachments and voice messages on Android OS without user interaction.

It is advised to check your phone’s settings promptly to ensure it is up to date. While iPhones are not impacted by this specific threat, Apple users should also regularly check for updates to safeguard personal data.
