A young Brazilian woman who had relocated to Ireland seeking a better life was reportedly strangled to death by her former boyfriend during a visit to his apartment, as revealed in court proceedings. Bruna Fonseca’s lifeless body was discovered in an apartment in the heart of Cork city on January 1, 2023. The accused, Miller Pacheco, aged 31, has entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of murdering Ms. Fonseca. According to the prosecution’s senior counsel, Bernard Condon, the 28-year-old university graduate had emigrated to Ireland in 2022 with aspirations of a brighter future.
