“Teen Student Dies at School: Community Mourns”

A school is honoring a teenage student who tragically passed away on the premises shortly after the new term began.

Authorities responded to an incident at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College in Darlington at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, January 13. The Durham Constabulary confirmed that they were alerted to concerns about a man’s well-being at the college.

Despite the efforts of staff and emergency responders, an 18-year-old individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, was pronounced deceased at the scene, with no suspicion of foul play.

A spokesperson for the authorities stated, “Police received a call shortly after 1:30 pm on Tuesday, January 13, regarding concerns for a man’s well-being at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College in Darlington. Unfortunately, an 18-year-old man was found dead at the location.

“His family has been notified and is receiving support from specialized personnel. The incident is not deemed suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College released a statement expressing, “We regret to inform you that an 18-year-old member of the College community passed away while at the College yesterday afternoon,” as reported by Chronicle Live.

“Our deepest condolences are with his family and friends during this sorrowful period. The College has established support services for those affected.”

An email further stated, “As you may be aware, an isolated event occurred at the college on Tuesday, January 13. We are collaborating with relevant agencies in response to this incident, and therefore, there will be no classes or sports activities at the college on Wednesday, January 14.

“The limited number of scheduled public exams will proceed as planned. More details will be shared at the earliest possible time.”
